Daycamp Photo

Day Camp

SEASPAR offers multiple Day Camps each summer to provide a structured environment in which to enjoy productive leisure activities. Campers enjoy a variety of structured activities with swimming being the most popular for most campers. SEASPAR also offers cooperative and collaborative summer programs with two local special education cooperatives, SASED and LADSE, to enhance the summer school students’ day.

Inclusion

SEASPAR assists each member entity in responding to its resident’s needs by providing technical assistance, workshops, and direct staff support when residents with disabilities participate in their home park district or recreation department programs. The inclusive recreational environment provides individuals with disabilities more choices for their leisure and allows residents to learn about one another as they participate in community programs.

Cooperative Programs

SEASPAR partners with many organizations to offer cooperative recreation programs. These agencies may include nursing homes, pediatric therapy clinics, hospitals, disability specific organizations, schools, group homes, and other agencies. By sharing resources with these organizations, SEASPAR is able to provide service to a wider range of individuals with disabilities.

Leisure Education

SEASPAR’s Leisure Education Program is offered in cooperation with schools throughout the communities SEASPAR serves. The program was developed to provide students with an increased awareness of healthy and beneficial leisure activities. SEASPAR staff work with the school staff to plan appropriate activities with the goal that the students will develop recreation interests through awareness and later enjoy these activities with their family and friends.
