Inclusion Aides

We’re currently hiring Inclusion Aides, who are responsible for supporting and assisting one or more individuals with a disability requiring specialized intervention in order to participate in our member entities’ programs.

Opportunities are available for preschool, before- and after-school programs, sports, day camp, and other recreation programs, which may be located in Brookfield, Clarendon Hills, Darien, Downers Grove, Indian Head Park, La Grange, La Grange Park, Lemont, Lisle, Western Springs, Westmont, or Woodridge.

Inclusion Aide applicants must be at least 16 years of age. Experience working with people with disabilities is preferred, but not required.

Program Assistants

We’re also looking for Program Assistants, who advocate for our participants while helping them safely engage in activities including fitness, arts, community outings, dances, and much more. Opportunities are available for evening and weekend weekly programs and special events. We are particularly in need of staff for the following programs and events:

  • Teen Scene, Mondays from 3:15-6 p.m. in La Grange (9/16-12/2)
  • Social Club, Friday evenings in Western Springs (9/20-12/6)
  • Kids Club, Saturdays from 9:30 a.m.-12 p.m. in Lisle (9/21-12/7)
  • Day Off School, Monday, October 14 from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. in Darien

Program Assistant applicants must be at least 16 years of age. Experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred, but not required.

Special Olympics Coaches

SEASPAR offers training in more than a dozen Special Olympics sports, and we’re currently looking for volunteers and staff with experience in basketball, snowshoeing, and alpine skiing to lend a helping hand this winter season!

Basketball

The 2019-2020 basketball season will “tip off” on Tuesday, November 5, with weekly practices and games on Tuesday evenings until February 11. Team assignment will determine your home court and game schedule. Teams will also compete in the Special Olympics Illinois Regional Basketball Tournament in January 2020 and the ITRS Basketball Tournament in February 2020 (weekend events). If a team earns Gold at the Special Olympics Illinois Regional Basketball Tournament, they will qualify for the 2020 Special Olympics Illinois State Basketball Tournament. Athletes will continue with practice (dates TBA) until the State Basketball Tournament, which will be held over a weekend in March 2020 in Bloomington-Normal.

Snowshoeing

Our snowshoe athletes have a weekly practice at Ebersold Park in Downers Grove on Mondays from 4-5 p.m., starting 10/7 and ending 12/16. Athletes will compete in the Special Olympics Illinois Regional Qualifier in early January 2020 (date and location TBA). Those athletes who qualify will advance to the 2020 Special Olympics Illinois Winter Games held in Galena in early February 2020 (dates TBA).

Alpine Skiing

Our skiers will hit the slopes this season on Saturday, January 4 from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. at Chestnut Mountain in Galena to practice for the Special Olympics Illinois Regional Qualifier in early January 2020 (date and location TBA). Those athletes who qualify will advance to the 2020 Special Olympics Illinois Winter Games held in Galena in early February 2020 (dates TBA).

Special Olympics coach applicants must be at least 16 years of age. Experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred, but not required.
