Hoop Dreams

Spartans Basketball is heating up as we are in the midst of tournament season! This year, SEASPAR is represented by three teams as the popularity of our basketball program has grown.

First up was the Special Olympics Regional Basketball Tournament on Sunday, January 22, where our athletes competed for a shot at the Special Olympics State tournament. Our White Team placed second in their division, Blue Team placed third, and Teal Team placed fourth. While none of our teams will be heading to State, it has been a great season, and we were just glad to return to the regional competition with parents and spectators supporting us for the first time in two years.

On Sunday, February 12, our players will show off their skills at the Therapeutic Recreation (TR) Section Tournament, which is hosting 69 teams in five locations.

Our very own Athletics Coordinator, Matt Gorecki, is now the Chair of the committee that plans TR Section Tournaments across multiple Special Olympics sports.

Congratulations, Matt!

To get our incredible athletes pumped for their competitions, we gave them a special treat – their very own trading cards! Collect them all to show your support. Go Spartans!
