Each year, SEASPAR works to raise funds through its “annual appeal,” which begins on Giving Tuesday and continues through the end of the year. During this time, we humbly ask our friends, supporters, and local businesses for financial support for initiatives we have for the following year.
In our 2022 appeal, we asked for support for our Fee Assistance Program, which is used by families with financial constraints to fund up to 50% of their program fees. With inflation and rising costs impacting our families, we believed this was the best use of our annual appeal funds for 2023.
Our goal was $15,000, which was the approximate amount of fee assistance distributed in 2022. So you can imagine our reaction when the final amount in donations for our 2022 annual appeal totaled… $38,689!
Grateful is an understatement. We are overwhelmed by the generosity of our supporters. They recognized a need and filled it with donations ranging from $10 to $10,000. One donation came with the comment, “Thank you for everything you do for your participants. I can't count the number of times you've gone above and beyond!”
But it is our turn to say thank you. Thank you to our participant families who trust us to provide safe, high-quality programs to their loved ones. Thank you to our communities who trust us to serve their residents. And thank you to our financial supporters, who trust us to responsibly put their donations to work. We don’t take any of this trust lightly, and we are truly grateful.
We have already allocated over $15,000 in fee assistance for 2023, and more will be distributed each season.
