SEASPAR Swim Meet 2022

The South East Association for Special Parks And Recreation (SEASPAR) will host over eight special recreation associations (SRA), and athletes for an annual Swim Meet at the FMC Natatorium in Westmont on December 4 from 9:00 am to noon. Event organizers expect an approximation of 150 athletes with disabilities.

The event will take place, for the first time, at the FMC Natatorium, a 71,000-square-foot facility located within Westmont Park District’s Ty Warner Park. The facility features an Olympic-size pool with seating for up to 1,200 spectators. “The facility’s amenities make it the perfect place to host an event of such magnitude,” said Matt Gorecki, SEASPAR Athletics Coordinator. “I expect our participating SRAs will relish the opportunity to compete at the FMC.”

The idea of hosting SEASPAR’s annual swim meet at the FMC Natatorium was driven by Bob Fleck, Westmont Park District’s Executive Director, and SEASPAR Board Member. The event will allow a pool of talented athletes with disabilities from all parts of Illinois to experience competition in an Olympic-style setting.
